I would like to take this time to thank everyone who help in making the ARRL Field Day such a success this year. Everyone's direct participation made it a very unique and wonderful experience. It seemed to have gone by in a blur since there was no end to the activities and great socialization. The only thing left to do now is reflect on what a great time it was and look forward to the next year event. Our group was also very grateful to be part of two people becoming new HAM'S and a third who was a 9 year old that passed his Morse code at the N7FW VE Team testing.
A lot of Technician class operators had a chance to spend some time playing with the HF rigs and left with the bug to upgrade. The PSK-31 demo was also a great success beyond our wildest imagination. Using a projector to enlarge this onto a projection screen so everyone could see it brought the other activities in the tents to a halt. We have several people pursing setting up their on PSK-31 operations now.
As usual the weather did what we expected. It did not rain all month, but come Field Day we had several storms that kept a few of us busy making sure our tents were not going to vacate. A true test of operating in the field during adverse conditions.
We also want to thank the Arab EMA and the Park Recreational Services for the use of the soccer fields behind the 911 center for this event. The Arab Tribune for all the exposure they gave us prior to the event and the coverage they did that day.
